Mother nature is spitting her final cold winds at me. For the last (hopefully my final-for-a-bit) warm coffee of the season, I attempted a salted caramel coffee. This drink has numerous advertisements and recipes so I read a few ideas and created my own.
“Created” is a bit loose. I took coffee, made homemade whipped cream, and added salt and caramel.
But! It’s not for a lack of trying. I attempted the sweetened condensed milk to caramel via a crockpot and failed. Twice.
Nonetheless, Smuckers to the rescue. I purchased sea salt expressly for this drink… and decided I didn’t care for it.
The caramel/ whipped cream/ salt combo is great – just maybe on a cheesecake.
None on my coffee, thank you.
To each his own. (And I have a large container of sea salt if you want to try it).
