I hijacked this recipe, Steaming Mocha Cocoa, to make today. I sipped from my robin mug long after the drink was cold.
The recipe calls for 2 cups of milk, 2 tablespoons of cocoa, and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar cooked with 1 tablespoon of ground coffee. I added a rounded tablespoon, but I always want an extra kick. I threw the vanilla in at the end.
I used white sugar even though the recipe called for brown (I’m out of brown sugar because going to the store is a huge ordeal. I know that sounds lame and that’s ok but the store is too much on some days and why would I go to the store if I can cheat on a recipe?) It totally might taste better with brown sugar, but the drink was still nums.
The real star though? My mug. It’s cute and the robin might be looking at me. I have a new favorite coffee mug, and I might have ten thousand coffee mugs.
I splurged and bought a few mugs from Mikasa and I have to say, future teacher gifts are coming from there. Their mugs are not boring, are not unfairly priced, and are not ugly.
